The Best Paintball Park in San Diego: The Paintball Park at Camp Pendleton

I’ve enjoyed paintballing for years. When I first started playing, I was worried about getting hit, I was also worried about how embarrassing it would be if I didn’t do well. But in this installment I have to make a confession, I, Frank Cortes am an adrenaline junky. So even though I had my concerns, my love of a good adrenaline rush pushed me to do it! I’ll also tell you, I’m glad I did! There’s so much to love about Paintball, I love the strategy, the gear, and when the plan all comes together, you can’t beat it! Paintball is a blast! If you’ve never played before I highly recommend it!

I enjoy it so much that I couldn’t help but show you my favorite spot to play in this installment of Born & Raised, I’m talking about The Paintball Park at Camp Pendleton! If you haven’t played paintball before, paintball is an adrenaline-fueled action sport that can be enjoyed by anyone, male or female, at any age! Camp Pendleton is one of the largest and most recognized parks in the USA. They offer walk-on play available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can go out by yourself and play, or you can grab a group of family/friends and book one of their Private Group parties!

Does it hurt?
I won’t lie to you! it’s not as bad as you might think. so you shouldn’t allow the fear of pain to prevent you from giving it a shot…..literally! But, you will feel it when you get hit. That said, you have a lot of options from the experienced to the new players. When you come to the park you have some options, you have regular paintball, paintball lite, Splatmaster, and Airsoft. They have eight recreational parks you can play. Now these parks aren’t just wooden pallets and 55-gallon drums like you’ll find at a lot of other parks. Every field has different bunkers from military HELICOPTERS, KING-KONG, TANKS, AIRPLANES, TIKI HUTS and more all set up for a variety of game scenarios. Which is really a lot of fun! So that said! Let’s take a look at some of these options!

Paintball Lite!
For younger players or the squeamish, “Paintball Lite” uses a new type of paintball gun that was built specifically for beginner players and kids ages 8-12.  The guns are much smaller and weigh a lot less than traditional equipment, but the best part is they use the same extra small paintballs that are used for Splatmaster.  What does that mean?  No bruises or marks after a day of Paintball Lite! All of the playing gear is easy to carry, super lightweight, and the game itself has the same feel as regular paintball (but without the intensity!) Paintball Lite is perfect for adult first-timers, young up-and-comers, and for anyone else who’s looking to have a great time on the paintball field without the fear of getting shot.

The Splatmaster
Splatmaster is the most popular new birthday party adventure for kids ages 6-10! It’s so fun that kids as young as six and as old as 100 can enjoy running around our special Kids Arena and other paintball fields, learning to aim at our brightly-colored targets, playing real paintball-type games against each other. The game is played with JT Splatmaster equipment. The guns are half as powerful as traditional paintball guns (no painful shots!) and shoot paintballs that are half the size of traditional ammo (less mess!). All of the ammo is 100% water soluble and machine washable (no stains!). Party times are available seven days a week for groups of ten or more players, and all of our parties include a personal referee and party coordinator.

So go by and check them out, when you get to Camp Pendleton, just let them know that you’re heading out to play some Paintball, they’ll let you through!
